Tumblr just gave oppressive governments what they need! I live in one of those countries and tumblr was my ONLY access to porn and to a sexual community especially a gay one! It’s a terrible thing that has happened with Tumblr. I don’t think the corporate overlords understand (or care) that, for so many people, Tumblr was one of the only ways they could access the knowledge and the people they need in order to feel connected and human. I’ve spoken to so many people (particularly from the Middle East) who feel (and are) trapped without anywhere to turn. Cutting out this portion of Tumblr is, for such people, like turning off the sun.
