I received this question today:
Why do many Men end up cheating on their gorgeous wives?
The question was perfectly-timed given that I was already getting ready to write a post about the recent divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
First, a few statistics. Polling suggests that approximately 60% of all married people have engaged in sexual activities with someone other than their spouse during their marriage. Another poll found that 70% of Men admitted to cheating, while 50% of women admitted the same. Those statistics seem compatible with a current divorce rate of around 50%, although “infidelity” officially accounts for only 17% of all divorces.
When it comes to cheating, Men and women do it for wildly different reasons. Women often cheat because they feel unloved or unappreciated, or they want to seek revenge on husbands who have hurt them in the past. In other words, women cheat due to emotional needs.
Men cheat because they are programmed that way. Men are built for sex and sexual conquest. They are hard-wired to inject their genetic material into as many holes as possible. From an evolutionary standpoint, this Male desire is an important component in the advancement of the species.
But it’s more than an evolutionary desire to further the species that compels Men to cheat. Men also have a powerful need to conquer and subdue others. Men are lions constantly on the hunt, every new kill a fresh and invigorating reaffirmation of their power.
It’s for that reason that I have always believed that Men do not cheat because their wives are ugly or mean or even unsatisfying sexually (although that can be a motivator). Most Men can go out and fuck some stranger and then come home perfectly happy to see the wife and kids again. Men compartmentalize things very well; their work behavior is often completely separate from their home behavior or their behavior around their friends. Fucking strange pussy is simply another compartment in a Man’s life that has nothing to do with any other part of his life, nor does it affect his feelings about anything else in it.
This is another reason why so many Men (married or not) find owning and using faggots so fulfilling. A faggot is simply in another compartment in a Man’s life, but the faggot (who is also male) is compartmentalizing in much the same way as the Man. The Man knows he can receive all of the pleasure he wants from a faggot (and often rougher than what he can achieve with females) without any questions or emotions that might involve the other aspects of his life.
I’ve had Male friends get into arguments with their wives because the wife found pornography or a Fleshlight or some other evidence of masturbation. The woman feels violated and unappreciated. The Man is often confused by this, mainly because, to him, using a Fleshlight or a slut or a faggot is all the same – his private time to express his sexual power and release his pent-up sexual energies. To him, that is separate from his marriage or his job or his friends.
Brad Pitt, like any Man, views his sexual power as something necessary and separate from his family, his career, or his vast wealth. He viewed his attractive co-star Marion Cotillard (who is only a year younger than Jolie) as fresh meat, a beautiful gazelle on the plain ready to be taken down and subdued. For a Man in this situation, it isn’t about being “in love” with Cotillard any more than it is about being “out of love” with Jolie. It’s about a Man expressing his need to dominate, to conquer.
Men feel most alive during the hunt. The taking of new prey reinforces his power as a Man. He enjoys the feeling of penetrating something different, hearing new moans and smelling unique scents. The beast within a Man’s sexual nature is fully released in these fleeting moments, driven wholly by passion and ego and a desire to rut someone into submission.
So this really begs the question: is it really cheating if a Man is simply following his natural instinct? The true crime might be that these great Men are expected to be faithful at all.
