How do you feel about the death penalty and what’s your reaction to this administration’s decision to resume executions in the federal system following a 16 year pause?

I’m not against the death penalty, but it needs to be thoroughly vetted and then actually accomplished, not dragged out. People who purposely kill others have forfeited their rights to life. I can think of plenty of awful murderers who deserve death for their crimes, and I know everybody reading this can think of some, too.
Having said that, I don’t think Occupant Trump is the right kind of authoritarian psychopath we need overseeing the death penalty’s resurrection.
Why? The Central Park Five.
For YEARS Trump hounded these five young black Males, accusing them of being the rapists and murders behind the death of a female jogger. He demanded their immediate execution for this heinous crime, going so far as to take out a full page ad in the New York Times and publicly stating his position.

But it was later discovered through advancing DNA tests that these five young black Men were INNOCENT.
So what I’m really saying is that maybe Trump isn’t the right racist, authoritarian dumbfuck we need to properly bring back the death penalty, ya know?
